Tag Filter Rules

Tag Filter
Section titled “Tag Filter”How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”A tag filter rule determines which todos or sticky notes appear in a list based on their assigned tags. Lists are tag-based filters — they do not store items directly; they display items whose tags match the filter rule.
Multi-Tag: OR Logic
Section titled “Multi-Tag: OR Logic”When multiple tags are set in a filter rule, the logic is OR — an item will appear if it has any of the specified tags.
Examples:
| Filter Rule | Displayed Items |
|---|---|
| Tag = Work | Only items tagged “Work” |
| Tag = Work OR Important | Items tagged “Work” or “Important” (or both) |

Status Filter — Show/Hide Completed
Section titled “Status Filter — Show/Hide Completed”This setting controls whether completed items appear in the list.
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Show incomplete only | Only pending items are displayed; completed items are hidden |
| Show completed | Shows pending items plus items completed within the last 24 hours. Items completed more than 24 hours ago are hidden |
Auto-Tagging vs. Filter Rules
Section titled “Auto-Tagging vs. Filter Rules”| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Auto-Tagging | Automatically applies tags when a new item is created inside a list |
| Filter Rules | Controls which items are displayed in a list |
They work together: Auto-tagging ensures items have appropriate tags, while filter rules control which items each list displays.
