Common Confusion Points
Customer service self-check sheet: When a user asks about one of these concepts, first confirm what they’re actually referring to — don’t give the wrong answer.
1. To-Do List vs Sticky Note List
Section titled “1. To-Do List vs Sticky Note List”| To-Do List | Sticky Note List | |
|---|---|---|
| Contains | Only to-dos | Only sticky notes |
| Is | A “to-do view” | A “sticky note view” |
| Deletion impact | Does not affect sticky note lists | Does not affect to-do lists |
| Settings | Show lunar calendar, hide schedule, hide countdown, etc. | Hide sticky note time, hide sticky note tags, etc. |
Typical Wrong Answer 1: User says “I deleted a to-do list, why did my sticky notes change too” — They won’t. The two list types don’t interfere. Typical Wrong Answer 2: User says “I want to add a to-do in my sticky note list” — Can’t do that. Sticky note lists only contain sticky notes. Create to-dos in a to-do list.
2. List vs Tag
Section titled “2. List vs Tag”| List | Tag | |
|---|---|---|
| Used for | A “tag-filtered content view” | Marking content |
| Quantity | One piece of content can appear in multiple lists simultaneously | One piece of content can have multiple tags |
| What happens when deleted | Does not affect the content itself | Only removes the attachment, content is preserved |
| Cross-content? | Same content can appear in multiple lists | Same content can have multiple tags |
| Quantity limit | ❌ Unlimited (both members and non-members can create unlimited items) | ❌ Unlimited (both members and non-members can create unlimited items) |
Typical Wrong Answer: User says “I want to move this to-do from my work list to my life list.” Customer service shouldn’t say “just change the tag” — what’s being changed is not list ownership (lists were never ownership relationships). Instead, you’re modifying tags so the to-do matches different lists.
3. Sticky Note “Archive” vs To-Do “Complete”
Section titled “3. Sticky Note “Archive” vs To-Do “Complete””| Sticky Note | To-Do | |
|---|---|---|
| State 1 | Normal | Incomplete |
| State 2 | Archived | Completed |
| State 3 | Deleted | Deleted |
| Recoverable | ✅ Archive is one-click recoverable | ✅ Complete is one-click recoverable |
| Deletion recoverable | ❌ | ❌ |
Typical Wrong Answer: User says “How do I mark a sticky note as complete?” Customer service shouldn’t say “sticky notes can’t be marked complete” and then guide them to delete — instead say “Sticky notes use ‘Archive’ to indicate completion, moving them from the main list view to the archive area.”
4. The 3 Forms of To-Dos
Section titled “4. The 3 Forms of To-Dos”Plain to-do / countdown / schedule are the same type of data (all are “to-dos”) — not 3 different entities. The form is determined by whether a target date or start-end time is set.
| Form | Trigger Condition | Visual Difference |
|---|---|---|
| Plain To-Do | Only content filled in | To-do card displayed normally |
| Countdown | Target date set | Shows “N days remaining / today / overdue” |
| Schedule | Start-end time set | Appears as a time block in calendar view |
Typical Wrong Answer: User says “I want to create a schedule.” Customer service shouldn’t say “YYNote doesn’t have a schedule feature” — in reality, “schedule” is one form of a to-do.
5. Recurring To-Do vs To-Do
Section titled “5. Recurring To-Do vs To-Do”“Recurring to-do” is a rule, not a specific to-do. The rule runs in the background, scanned daily — when matched, it actually creates a to-do in the list (not a virtual display).
- Deleting a to-do generated by a rule doesn’t affect the rule — it will generate again next time
- Modifying a rule does not retroactively change already-generated to-dos
- Modifying/deleting a rule only affects future generated to-dos
- Deleting a rule does not clean up already-generated to-dos (the rule is gone, but the to-dos remain in the list)
Typical Wrong Answer: User says “I deleted the recurring rule, why are the previously generated to-dos still there?” — This is normal behavior. The rule and the generated to-dos are independent data records.
6. Gregorian Yearly vs Lunar Yearly (Recurring To-Dos)
Section titled “6. Gregorian Yearly vs Lunar Yearly (Recurring To-Dos)”- Gregorian Yearly: Matches by Gregorian month and day, e.g., July 15
- Lunar Yearly: Matches by lunar month and day, e.g., the 13th day of the 6th lunar month
Key: Regardless of whether it’s Gregorian or lunar yearly, the to-do actually generated in the list always displays the Gregorian date. For example, if you set a “lunar 6th month 13th day” birthday reminder, the rule matches “the Gregorian day corresponding to the 13th day of the 6th lunar month this year,” and the generated to-do’s date is displayed as a Gregorian X month X day.
Lunar leap month: Leap months are handled by “merging into the following month.” A rule matching “6th month” will also trigger on the leap 6th month day (no distinction between “regular 6th month” and “leap 6th month”).
Typical Wrong Answer: User says “I set a lunar birthday, why does the list show the Gregorian date?” — This is by design. The rule follows the lunar calendar; the display follows the Gregorian calendar.
7. Third-Party Calendar vs YYNote’s Own To-Dos
Section titled “7. Third-Party Calendar vs YYNote’s Own To-Dos”| YYNote To-Dos | Third-Party Calendar Events | |
|---|---|---|
| Creation | Created within YYNote | Created in the original calendar service (Google/Outlook/Apple Calendar, etc.) |
| Editing | Editable | Cannot be edited in YYNote — must edit in original service |
| Deletion | Deletable (true deletion, irrecoverable) | Cannot be deleted in YYNote (delete in original service) |
| Sync direction | Bidirectional (multi-device) | One-way (pull for display) |
| Participates in YYNote sync? | Yes | No |
| List membership | Belongs (appears in list via tag matching) | Does not belong, displayed independently |
| Notifications | Depends on membership status | Depends on membership status |
Note the distinction between “calendar” and “event” layers:
| Layer | Can it be created/edited/deleted/viewed within YYNote? |
|---|---|
| Calendar itself (subscription source) | ✅ Yes |
| Calendar events | ❌ View-only, cannot edit/delete |
Typical Wrong Answer 1: User says “I edited a calendar event in YYNote, why didn’t my original calendar change?” — Because it’s one-way pull, not bidirectional sync.
Typical Wrong Answer 2: User says “I deleted a third-party calendar event in YYNote, why is it still in my original calendar?” — You can’t delete it at all. It’s read-only.
8. Delete vs Archive vs Complete
Section titled “8. Delete vs Archive vs Complete”YYNote has no “recycle bin” — “Delete” is true deletion (irrecoverable):
| Operation | Applicable To | Recoverable? |
|---|---|---|
| Delete | Sticky notes / to-dos / tags / to-do lists / sticky note lists | ❌ Irrecoverable |
| Archive | Sticky notes only | ✅ One-click recoverable |
| Complete | To-dos only | ✅ One-click recoverable |
The only data backup path: Use the “Export Deleted Records” feature before deletion (generates an Excel file 小黄条已删除记录YYYYMMDD.xlsx). This is a remedial measure, not a normal workflow.
Typical Wrong Answer: User says “I accidentally deleted a to-do, how do I get it back?” — Directly tell the user “Deleted items cannot be recovered. Please be careful before deleting in the future.” Do not fabricate a “recycle bin.”
9. Log Out vs Delete Account
Section titled “9. Log Out vs Delete Account”| Log Out | Delete Account | |
|---|---|---|
| Local data | Preserved | Cleared (irreversible) |
| Account | Still exists, can switch to another account | Still exists, but requires re-login |
| Use case | Temporarily switch accounts | Permanently remove this account’s local data |
Typical Wrong Answer: User says “I logged out, why is all my data gone?” — That wasn’t a log out, it was an account deletion (or a system reinstall). Logging out preserves data.
10. Sync vs Local
Section titled “10. Sync vs Local”- After login: Data goes to the cloud, multi-device sync
- Not logged in: Cannot use YYNote (not “local only” — the login dialog pops up directly)
- Sync latency: “Eventually consistent,” not real-time
- Conflict handling: Later-saved overwrites earlier-saved; if a piece of data has “uncommitted local modifications,” it won’t be overwritten during merging
Typical Wrong Answer: User says “Why can’t I use it without logging in?” — Clearly tell the user “YYNote requires login to use.”
11. Membership Expiry vs Data Loss
Section titled “11. Membership Expiry vs Data Loss”- Membership expiry ≠ data wiped
- After membership expires, features are locked (pages are covered by an overlay), but all data is retained
- Data always belongs to the user — after expiry, all data can be exported at any time via the PC client
- The account itself does not become invalid — you can continue to log in
- Get 7-day membership upon registration (no distinction between “new” and “existing” users), with access to all features
Typical Wrong Answer: User asks “My membership expired — is my data still there?” — Yes, it is. Membership expiry only pauses features. All your sticky notes, to-dos, and list data are still there. The data always belongs to you. If you need to export, do so via the PC client.
12. Unsupported Features (Avoid Giving the Impression They Are Supported)
Section titled “12. Unsupported Features (Avoid Giving the Impression They Are Supported)”- Image/file attachments: Both sticky notes and to-dos do not support adding images, files, voice memos, or other attachments — plain text only
- Instant messaging: YYNote has no user-to-user chat functionality
- Recycle bin / accidental deletion recovery: None. Deletion is true deletion — there is no recovery entry in the UI
- Anonymous use: None. Not logged in = cannot use
