Desktop Sticky Notes Feature Guide

Desktop Sticky Notes is a lightweight text recording tool from Yellow Note, designed for jotting down ideas, memos, and quick notes on the fly.

Core Features:

  • Minimal sticky notes with cross-device sync
  • Transparent overlay embedded on desktop, visible on startup
  • Drag-to-reorder, one-click pin to top
  • Date-based archiving, one-click export
  • Category tags for organization

Full Platform Support: Sticky notes are available as a desktop plugin on Windows, Android, iOS, and HarmonyOS (iOS does not support transparency). On Windows, they appear as transparent floating windows embedded into the desktop. On mobile, they work as home screen widgets. Visible on startup (Windows requires auto-start to be enabled).

📱 See the App Operations Guide for more gestures

Edit: Click an existing note to enter edit mode, modify the content, and save.

Delete: Swipe left on a note (App) or hover your mouse over it (PC) and use the floating toolbar to delete.

⚠️ Deletion is irreversible. Deleted notes cannot be recovered from the archive.

  • Pin to Top: Hover over a note and click the pin button on the floating toolbar. Pinned notes always appear first.
  • Reorder: Drag the dot handle at the front of a note to manually rearrange the order.
  • Pinned and archived notes cannot be reordered.

Archiving is a manual operation — there is no auto-archive mechanism.

  • Hover over a note (PC) and select Archive from the floating toolbar, or swipe left (App) and choose Archive.
  • Archived notes are removed from the main list but remain in the archive area and can be restored at any time.

Viewing the Archive: Scroll to the bottom of the notes list and tap the archive entry point.

Why Archive: Keep your main list clean while preserving data you want to keep but don’t need to see every day.

Sticky notes support category tags for filtering and organization.

Managing Tags:

  • PC: SettingsCategory Tags
  • App: MyCategory Tags

Auto-tagging: In the sticky notes list settings, you can configure tag filtering rules. When a new note is created inside a specific list, it automatically inherits that list’s tag.

The desktop sticky notes plugin supports rich appearance customization:

  • Opacity: Adjust note background transparency, 0%–100%
  • Background Color: Customize the note background color
  • Font Size: Adjust text size inside notes
  • Font Color: Customize text color
  • Margin / Line Spacing: Adjust layout spacing
