PC Operations Guide

The following instructions apply to the YYNote Windows desktop plugin. App operations differ — see the App Operations Guide.

Desktop plugin operations are designed around Windows desktop interaction patterns — click empty space to add, hover for floating toolbar, right-click for menus, drag to adjust everything. Master these operations and you’ll have full command of the desktop experience.


Click a blank area in any desktop plugin to quickly create a new item.

Start typing directly after adding, then press Enter to save.


  • Click todo text or sticky note content → enters edit mode
  • Click the circle at the front of a todo → marks as completed / uncompleted

Hover your mouse over an item to reveal the floating action toolbar, which includes:

  • Complete: Mark a todo as done
  • Pin / Unpin: Keep the item at the top of the list
  • Edit: Enter edit mode
  • Delete: Remove the item
  • Archive (sticky notes): Move to the archive area

The toolbar buttons vary by item type — just hover to see what’s available.


Double-click a todo or sticky note to archive it.

Archived items can be viewed from the archive entry point. Double-click again in the archive page to restore.


Right-click on an item to open a context menu with all available operations.

Todo / Sticky Note right-click menu:

  • Complete / Restore
  • Edit content
  • Delete
  • Pin / Unpin

Calendar right-click menu (on a schedule event):

  • Complete / Restore
  • Edit content
  • Delete
  • Set schedule background color

Dragging is one of the most frequently used operations, covering multiple scenarios.

Click the top-left menu button in any desktop plugin to quickly switch between:

  • Todo list
  • Sticky notes list
  • Schedule list
  • Countdown list

The top-right menu (available on todo, sticky notes, weather, and calendar plugins) includes:

  • Desktop plugin settings: Adjust transparency, display style, etc.
  • Manual sync: Sync data immediately
  • Open app settings: Access the full settings interface

💡 For the calendar plugin, you need to open the Unscheduled Items panel first — the settings button appears at the top-right of that panel.


Click the YYNote icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of your Windows desktop) to open the Settings Center.

From Settings Center you can configure:
