How to Set Lunar Birthday Reminders? YYNote Lunar Recurrence Feature
Many people remember solar calendar birthdays but can’t keep track of their parents’ lunar birthdays.
YYNote supports lunar recurrence. Set it once, and it will automatically remind you on the corresponding lunar date every year — no need to figure out which month is leap.
What Is Lunar Recurrence?
Section titled “What Is Lunar Recurrence?”Lunar recurrence sets repeat rules based on the lunar calendar.
For example, set “Mom’s Birthday” with the lunar date “5th day of the 5th lunar month” — every year on that lunar date, the system automatically generates a new todo and sends a reminder.
How to Set Lunar Recurrence
Section titled “How to Set Lunar Recurrence”- Create a new todo and enter the content (e.g., “Mom’s Birthday”)
- Go to Edit → Repeat → Select “Lunar”
- Choose the lunar month and day
- Save
When to Use Lunar Recurrence
Section titled “When to Use Lunar Recurrence”- Parents’ and grandparents’ birthdays
- Traditional festival reminders (Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Double Ninth Festival, etc.)
- Lunar anniversaries
Only needs to be set once, then automatically reminds you every year.
Solar vs. Lunar
Section titled “Solar vs. Lunar”YYNote’s recurring todos support two calendar systems:
- Solar recurrence: Every 1st of the month, every Friday, every May 20th (Gregorian dates)
- Lunar recurrence: Every 5th day of the 5th lunar month, every New Year’s Eve, every Qingming Festival
They cannot be mixed: use solar for Gregorian birthdays and lunar for lunar birthdays.
Note: Recurring todos are managed as rules. When a rule triggers on client startup, a new todo instance is automatically generated for you.
Final Thoughts
Section titled “Final Thoughts”No flashy new features, just continuous refinement. Remembering your parents’ lunar birthdays matters more than any work deadline.
